Last Saturday when I stepped into Hoag Hospital, my mind was instantly flooded with memories of my own children being born there. I quickly remembered the joy I felt meeting them for the first time and the surreal feeling I had when I was wheeled out to my car to take them home.

As I rode up the elevator to meet my friend Christina's new baby, I couldn't help but be so excited for her! She was in the thick of this AMAZING moment in life and I felt grateful that I had a chance to photograph 21 hour old Luca to look back on. This is why I love photography, moments like these.
