As you can see from my galleries, I don't use photo props very often. I prefer to focus on my subject without any distractions. But for my sessions at the Christmas tree farm (see more here), I decided to bring along my red wagon. First, it creates a way for me to keep toddlers from running in the opposite direction of my camera! But more importantly, to me, it is a simple symbol of childhood. In fact, this red wagon is from my childhood (circa 1980s)! My parents saved it in their garage for years and it emerged for my son Everett's 1st birthday when my dad fixed it up like new. I love that a piece of my childhood is now a part of my own children's childhood! I haven't had a chance yet to take photos of my own children in the wagon yet, but after seeing how adorable Kasen's photos turned out, I am going to make sure I plan a photo session soon! How cute is Kasen in his fall sweater and boots?! His mama, Michele, was able to get in some of the photos too.
